Rescuing Age Concern Flower Beds

The flower beds outside Age Concern in Boldmere have been in need of a bit of tender loving care for quite a while. An approach by Cllr Paul Long to Nathan Dodd of Hall's Garden Centre and Andy Foxall of Age Concern has resulted in a flourishing new display of flowers outside Age Concern in time for the Boldmere Street Festival on 18th June when a defibrillator will be installed outside Age Concern in an old red telephone box acquired by Martin Pedley of Boldmere Traders Association.

Nathan Dodd said “Halls were proud to be asked to support Age Concern, a local charity that is also one of our customers, to brighten up the local environment. Thanks to Paul Long for putting us together on this project.”

Cllr Paul Long said “Boldmere has a great community spirit and I was delighted when Halls agreed to do this for Boldmere and for Age Concern. Lots of people are regularly giving up their time to make Boldmere a greener and cleaner place.”

Becky Smith, Director of Operations at Age Concern Birmingham said “a big thank you to Nathan and Hall's Garden Centre, for his work and their kind flower and plant donations, creating a colourful display outside our Age Concern Birmingham head office and brightening up Boldmere high street. Thanks also to Cllr Paul Long for making this happen.”
